The student model Musicmaster was introduced in 1956 as fender's most affordable option. Features include a 22 1/2" scale, single slant-mounted plastic covered pickup at the neck, volume and tone controls, 3 saddle bridge, anodized aluminium guard, Maple neck, 21 frets and a desert sand finish. This is an early example in good overall condition. Soft V neck profile typical of the year, plays really well with plenty of life left in the original frets. Minor cigarette burn to the headstock between E and A tuner, pick wear to the anodised guard, a small area of buckle wear to the back and the usual edgewear dings typical of an instrument of this age. This guitar has an excellent vintage tone great for cutting lead lines or choppy rhythm. As well as excellent instruments, these guitars represent very good value for money in the vintage market given the build quality, choice of woods and craftsmanship of Fender at the time. Complete with original hard shell case.
