Introduced in 1943 the Gibson LG-1 flat top features Mahogany back and sides with a spruce ladder braced top, Rosewood fingerboard, dot inlays, silkscreen logo, 3-a-side tuners, sunburst finish and a 24 3/4" scale length.
This example has the larger pickguard (introduced in '55) with a very comfortable medium C profile neck. Being ladder braced it will give you a stronger fundamental with less overtones than the X-braced LG-2. It works really well with finger style playing with it's prominent balanced mid-range. The bridge has been replaced as have the tuner tips but it is otherwise original and in good overall condition. A fantastic vintage acoustic for the money.
Small E String crack by the soundhole and pickguard commonly seen due to pickguard shrinkage
Minor dings typical for an instument of this age.
Changed Rosewood bridge and bridge pins
