Product ID: P-3438
Introduced in August 1964 the Mustang features a solidbody offset design, two slant mounted single coil pickups, 2 on/off slider pickup switches, master tone and volume controls, 24" scale as standard (22 1/2" as an option) and available in red, white or blue finishes.
This example is in good shape with showing some edge wear and finish wear to the top. In areas of wear it reveals another red coat to the body as is often seen on Fender's of this age. The neck feels great - a smooth D profile which is a joy to play. The pickups have excellent output, it's been refretted so plays really well and is ready to gig! Mustangs have increased dramatically in popularity over the past few months and considering their relative affordability these would make a really good investment as well as a super cool working instrument! This example is all original (besides a refret) complete with original hard shell case.
Pots - 18th week of '66
Neck - March '66
pickups - 1-8-66 ink dated
Original wiring and solder intact.
Overall condition is good. The instrument has clearly been played throughout it's life showing edge wear and some minor buckle wear. Frets are non original and have plenty of life left - it plays very well.
